This brand-new CD was recorded in 2022, and vocalists Dorian Chalmers, Dennis Curley and Becky Schlegel were joined by Mike Donley on piano, Andy Carroll on bass, Marc Bohn on drums, Mark Stillman on accordion, Eric Christopher on fiddle and mandolin, and Gary Rue on acoustic and electric guitars. Special guests include members of the High 48s bluegrass band.

Honeywine owes its genesis to the Trio albums featuring Dolly Parton, Emmylou Harris and Linda Ronstadt. After years of waiting around to be invited to join that group, Dennis finally realized it probably wasn't going to happen! So he asked Jim to write him a bunch of lyrics that he could set to music and sing with his own friends. The rest is history!
Lyrics
Jim is over-educated: he has a B.A. in English from UCLA; an M.A. in English from Tulane University; and a Ph.D in Psychology from the University of Southern California. Dennis grew up in Syracuse, New York, and received his B.A. from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. He moved to the Twin Cities in 1992. Vocals
Dorian has joined the stage for Table Salt Productions' Country Roads: The Music of John Denver and The Legendary Ladies of Country. She has also been portraying Karin Engelson in the Church Basement Ladies musicals for 14 years. For a number of years, Dorian was the lead vocalist for the Mancini Players and is a member of the crazy trio The Looney Lutherans. Singing with Dennis Curley is one of her favorite things to do!

Becky Schlegel is a Minnesota singer-songwriter, originally from South Dakota. She has played on her own and with bluegrass, country and acoustic bands, building a loyal fan base across the Upper Midwest. The Minnesota Music Academy has honored her for five consecutive years. www.beckyschlegel.com

In 2018, lyricist Jim Robinson and composer Dennis Curley teamed up to create more than a dozen songs for a new vocal-centered country band inspired in part by the 1980s Trio projects of Linda Ronstadt, Dolly Parton and Emmylou Harris. Featuring vocalists Curley (Country Roads: The Music of John Denver), Dorian Chalmers (Church Basement Ladies) and Becky Schlegel (Prairie Home Companion; multiple Minnesota Music Awards recipient) plus a six-piece band made up of the Twin Cities’ finest players, HONEYWINE’s first CD Gods Among Us is an inspired and inspiring collection of songs and stories that explore love, loss and faith from often surprising angles.
HONEYWINE gave its first two public performances in May of 2019 at the Celtic Junction Arts Center in St. Paul. Gods Among Us was recorded over those two evenings, and the excitement in the audience was palpable.
